Wrath of the Lich King: New sales records.
That Wrath of the Lich King would make an impact was clear long in advance. Now Blizzard announced the sales figures of the second official add-on to World of Warcraft. In the first 24 hours the game changed hands more than 2.8 million times - worldwide. In comparison, The Burning Crusade, the first official add-on, was sold "only” 2.4 million times in January 2007.
CEO Mike Morhaime said: "We appreciate the incredible support the gamers all over the world showed for WoW. Wrath of the Lich King offers some of the best game contents we have ever developed for the Warcraft universe and we are happy to welcome even more gamers within the next few days.”
