AMD Froblin tech demo: Outline The protagonists of the March of the Froblins tech demo are frog and goblin hybrids, who collect stones, munch mushrooms or laze around. Besides the huge number of 3000 Froblins, it is the way of their visualization and the calculation of the pathfinding routines that makes this piece of software so interesting. Instead of running the latter one on the CPU, it is a Radeon HD 4800 that calculates the path of every Froblin; Tesselation provides a high level of detail without loss in performance. Due to Global Illumination the light visualization is on a high level, too.
In order to run the "March of the Froblins” DX10.1 tech demo, you need a Radeon HD 4800 graphics card, Windows Vista and a fast dual-core CPU - since the GPU isn't calculating everything. AMD recommends the current Catalyst 8.11 driver. You can
download the demo from AMD's website..
