No additional bids planned

Microsoft no longer interested in Yahoo

Author: Stephan Wilke (Nov 07, 2008) - Up to now Yahoo has had a very turbulent year 2008: After the bounced takeover by Microsoft also the planned co-operation with Google has not been realised. Now Microsoft confirmed that there are no further plans for a takeover in the near future.
Yahoo does not face any changes: No takeover by Microsoft, no advertising co-operation with Google.
Yahoo does not face any changes: No takeover by Microsoft, no advertising co-operation with Google.
According to Steve Ballmer, CEO of the Redmond software giant, Microsoft will not make another bid for Yahoo. After two offers have already been refused it is obvious that Yahoo is not interested. Whereas a partnership in the search engine market could be imaginable, says Ballmer.

Yahoo-CEO Jerry Yang says that Microsoft's idea of taking over "is not bad" but that the offer should be higher. The bid with 33 US dollar a share that Microsoft had made in February did not convince Yang. Yang's new openness as Heise Online already reported is clearly connected to the refused co-operation with Google.
