About two years ago, in November 2006 to be exact, Microsoft introduced Windows Vista as a successor of Windows XP. Now they released a list of all the applications that are compatible with Vista.
Before Service Pack 1 was released a lot of programs didn’t run on Windows Vista based systems. Now the “Windows Vista Application Compatibility Downloadable List for IT Professionals” gives 3995 programs that don’t cause problems with Vista.
This list contains software that has been marked with “Certified for Windows Vista” or “Works with Windows Vista” by Microsoft. Additionally there are those programs that have been reported to be Vista compatible by their developers.
You can check all the applications in the
Windows Vista Compatibility Center.
