SLI upgrade with Physx

Nvidia is said to plan SLI 2

Author: Marc Sauter (Sep 30, 2008) - According to the latest rumors Nvidia is planning to establish a new brand: SLI 2. Actually this is normal SLI combined with Physx.
SLI 2 = SLI plus Physx
SLI 2 = SLI plus Physx
SLI (Scalable Link Interface) is old hat: In this multi GPU technology up to four GPUs work together to render a 3D image. Physx respectively CUDA isn’t widespread in games yet, but Nvidia is pressing ahead with the development and commercialization.

With Unreal Tournament 3 a popular game is supporting GPU Physx already and Shattered Horizon will be the next one.

According to Fudzilla, Nvidia will introduce SLI 2 soon – the combination of SLI and Physx in form of a GPU triple. This SLI technology isn’t new indeed, but the advertisement should be another attention getter on the graphics cards packages. Furthermore SLI 2 could stimulate game developers to integrate Physx or CUDA support in their games.
