Core i7: The first product series of Nehalem processors in the high-end sector.
When talking to Hans-Jürgen Werner and Aaron Coday, we learned that Intel only made the commitment to start production of the first Nehalem processor this year. Intel won't promise shipments to the market in 2008. So there are two possibilities: A launch in November/December or in 2009. So you should bear that in mind if you want to upgrade your PC and hope for some price cutting.
Processor roadmap: Intel’s schedule for 2008 and 2009.
Another topic was the performance in games. According to internet rumors Nehalem doesn't deliver any benefits in games. Intel says that Nehalem processors like the Core i7 wouldn't deliver 30 percent more fps indeed. A improvement in performance of about 10 to 20 percent would be more realistic. But actually there would be games that would receive noticeable benefits from Nehalem. Intel didn't want to reveal which games that would be.
