MSI R4870-T2D1G

MSI announces Radeon HD 4870 with one GiByte VRAM

Author: Gerold Pejril (Aug 18, 2008) - It seems as Micro-Star International has ordered double shifts for the engineers, because only a few days after the introduction of two Radeon HD 4870 X2, there are details about a Radeon HD 4870 with 1 GiByte video memory on the homepage.

The card is called R4870-T2D1G and is based on AMD's 55 nanometer GPU RV770 and will be equipped with 1,024 MiByte GDDR5 memory. MSI keeps a tight lip about the clock speeds. But according to tcmagazine.com, they will match the default values of a HD 4870 with 512 MiByte GDDR5. Recommended retail price and release date of the R4870-T2D1G are unknown up to now.
