The Q6600 remain Intel's cheapest Quad Core
The performance of the
Q8200 is supposed to be inferior to the
Q6600, because the new 45 nanometer CPU has a lower clock speed (2.33 GHz) and only half as much L2 cache (4 MiByte). With those specifications, it won’t help that the
Q8200 has a higher FSB than the older processor – 1,333 MHz vs. 1,066 MHz. Nevertheless the price of the Q8200 is set to $224 while the Q6600 is sold for $193.
