Q6600 will still be Intel’s cheapest Quad Core

The Q6600 remain Intel's cheapest Quad Core
The performance of the Q8200 is supposed to be inferior to the Q6600, because the new 45 nanometer CPU has a lower clock speed (2.33 GHz) and only half as much L2 cache (4 MiByte). With those specifications, it won’t help that the Q8200 has a higher FSB than the older processor – 1,333 MHz vs. 1,066 MHz. Nevertheless the price of the Q8200 is set to $224 while the Q6600 is sold for $193.
