Dominator RAM to the limits

Corsair sets new world record for overclocked DDR3 RAM

Author: Marc Sauter (Aug 01, 2008) - Corsair was able to overclock a 1,024 MiByte DDR3 module to 1,290 Megahertz - a new world record.
The CPU-Z validation
The CPU-Z validation
In all likelihood an engineering sample of Corsair's DDR3 Dominator RAM has been used for this record attempt. To receive such high results the latencies of the memory were set to 9-9-9-24. The Corsair system, consisting of an Asus Rampage and a Core 2 Duo E8400, was cooled down to minus 20 degrees Celsius. Because of the 2:1 ratio, the board had to deliver a FSB of 645 Megahertz.

A validation with CPU-Z was successful and therefore the result is open to public.
