Author: Jan Trommler (Jul 18, 2008) - IIntel's Mobile GM45 Express - introduced with the Centrino 2 platform - can't just be found in notebooks, but also on DFI's new
CA230 BR board for Embedded Systems.

Surprisingly enough the board is based on AMD's mini
DTX form factor. Due to Intel's
GM45 Express chipset, it is possible to use the new, 45 nanometer structured, Mobile processors, like the Core 2 Duo T9400 and up to eight Gigabyte DDR2 notebook memory with up to 400 Megahertz. Additional features are a PCI Express x16 slot, a PCI Express x1 slot and one PCI slot as well as one Ultra DMA PATA and four SATA II connectors, eight USB 2.0 ports and a DVI connector.
Because of the small dimensions and the use of mobile components, optimized for low energy consumption, the
CA230 BF could be ideal for HTPCs of office systems. Unfortunately DFI didn't give any information about the price.
